The Cities for You(th) has been envisioned under the ‘Fit4Future’ programme supported by Fondation Botnar. Safetipin was one of the 14 projects selected under the ‘Fit4Future’ programme launched in June 2021. Fit4Future works towards empowering young people with future-ready skills and developing new, technological solutions to health and wellbeing challenges.
Using Data to Create Safer Public Spaces in Durban – 2019 to 2022
In 2018, Safetipin and Soul City Institute (SCI) won the third Womanity Award that focused on programs that create safer urban environments for women and girls. On receiving the award, Safetipin and SCI supported by The Womanity Foundation worked on processes to adapt Safetipin methodology in Durban, South Africa. Read the report here.
Guidelines for an Index on Gender Friendly Cities – 2018 to 2019
Safetipin was part of a two-year project implemented by The Asia Foundation and supported by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). The project was in partnership with the Centre for Social Research (CSR), called “Making Cities Safe for Women in India.” The goal was to engage diverse stakeholders tasked with improving public place safety for women in three Indian cities: Bhopal, Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh), and Jodhpur (Rajasthan). Using Data to Build Safer Cities – 2015 to 2017
Safetipin was one of 11 grantees of the 2014 Know Your City Call by Cities Alliance , which supported projects with innovative data collection methods that improve urban governance processes. Safetipin conducted safety audits and produced reports in three cities: Bogota, Delhi and Nairobi. Read the final report on these cities here.
