About Safetipin:

 

Safetipin (www.safetipin.com) is a social organisation working with a wide range of urban stakeholders including governments to make public spaces safer and more inclusive for women.

We use apps, big data and backend systems to collect data on factors linked to urban safety and inclusion. Our data is used by individuals, city governments and other urban stakeholders to help design, build and manage cities to make them safer, inclusive and accessible to all.  We are a small multi-disciplinary group of social scientists, architects, urban planners, designers and technologists.

 

About the role:

 

We are seeking an Associate – Research & Programs to support research, stakeholder engagement, project implementation, and program documentation. The role involves conducting qualitative and quantitative research, preparing reports, coordinating with partners, and contributing to knowledge management and proposal development across projects related to urban development, gender, mobility, and social inclusion

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Support project planning, coordination, and implementation activities.
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research, including field-based data collection and analysis.
  • Engage with government agencies, community organisations, and other project stakeholders.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, case studies, and project documentation.
  • Assist in organising workshops, consultations, meetings, and training programmes.
  • Support monitoring, evaluation, and documentation of project activities.
  • Contribute to proposal writing, research outputs, and knowledge management initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support project delivery and field activities.

 

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

 

  • Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Public Policy, Development Studies, Gender Studies, Economics, Urban Studies, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in research or programme implementation.
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Hindi.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Interest in gender equality, urbanisation, and social change.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as required.

 

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with research methodologies, surveys, and stakeholder consultations.
  • Strong report writing and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation frameworks.
  • Experience in proposal development and knowledge management is an advantage.
