Dr. Kalpana Viswanath is a researcher who has been working on issues of violence against women and safer cities for women for over 20 years. She has led research studies on violence against women in public spaces in the city.
She spearheaded the Safe Delhi for Women safety campaign led by Jagori since 2005 and led the research work that included conducting women's safety audits and surveys. She has been involved with UN Habitat, UN Women and Plan International in planning safe city programs. She has also provided technical support to safe city for women programs in Cambodia, Pakistan, Kerala, Mumbai and Kolkata. She is the Chair of the International Advisory Committee of Women in Cities International and is on the Advisory Group for the second State of Asian cities report to be brought out by ESCAP and UN Habitat. She has published widely.
Mr. Ashish Basu is an entrepreneur with interests in education and mobile technologies.
Earlier, he was President, NIIT. In this capacity he led new business ventures for NIIT including providing oversight to new acquisitions and joint ventures. He set up NIITs global learning solutions business in the early nineties, providing services to many leading US and UK companies. He was a member of the board of several NIIT companies and ventures including ElementK, Evolv, NIIT Institute of Process Excellence, NIIT USA Inc, and NIIT UK. He has been a member of government task forces in elearning and curriculum development, and has been a speaker at various conferences in India, USA, UK, Singapore and Peru on Learning Design and Development. He is an alumnus of IIM Bangalore and IIT Mumbai.
Avesh Chauhan is the SafetiPin Technology manager responsible for guiding product strategy and launching initial prototype build-outs in SafetiPin. Additionally, he manages operations and marketing activities.
He specialises in product development of Location Based services and mobile apps and is passionate about delightful user experiences with massive impact on business metrics. He has skills in mobile app development, LBS solutions,Spatial analytics, GIS/MAP based solutions,App Store Optimization and data analytics. He has previously worked for Imate( Mobile firm) and MapmyIndia and has been part of team in introducing and launching Navigation,M2M and Telematic solutions in India.
Kriti Agarwal, Program Manager at Safetipin, works on data collection and analysis, research and documentation. Her work largely involves formulation of recommendations and guidelines on making public places safe for women and girls and working with the government for their implementation.
An Architect-Urban Designer, she strongly believes in the potential of physical design to bring about a positive change in the social environment of a city. She did her Bachelors from the T.V.B. School of Habitat Studies and Masters from School of Planning and Architecture, Delhi.
Nagesh Singh is Assistant Manager Operations at Safetipin, in charge of Operations and Resource Planning for the codification of data. Apart from managing Operations he is responsible for coordination with our various vendors and Partners involved in Data collection activities. He handles a team of coders ,who are responsible for rating location using night time pictures collected through our various projects. Nagesh is MBA in operations and love playing cricket and Football.
Deepak Phalswal is in charge of Digital Marketing and managing social media at Safetipin. He has over 2 years of experience in Digital Marketing. He enjoys working on social media and analytics. He loves to travel and is a die-hard football and cricket fan.
Priyanka Sharma, Human Resources Manager at SafetiPin responsible for all HR and operations related activities. Responsible for defining job positions and managing the Interview process and carrying out Induction for new team members. Also, involved in the Budgeting of various projects associated with SafetiPin.Maintains management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures. Always keen to learn new things or processes related to her field. Also assist in the Accounting related functions to update the various processes and files.
Sonali Vyas, a Program Associate at Safetipin, works on data analysis and representation. As an architect and urban planner, she is involved in developing design and policy level recommendations for making public spaces safer for one and all. She also manages partner relationships, project campaign and documentation. She did her graduation from Aayojan School of Architecture, Jaipur and post- graduation from CEPT University, Ahmedabad.
