Dr. Kalpana Viswanath, Co-Founder, SafetiPin

Dr. Kalpana Viswanath is the co-founder and CEO of Safetipin, which is a social enterprise using data and technology to support cities in their endeavour to become safer, more inclusive and smarter. Since its inception in 2013, Safetipin has worked with more than 30 cities in India and other developing countries. Safetipin collects public space data through multiple sources including the MySafetipin app, and works with governments, to use this data for better planning and maintenance of cities.

Earlier, Kalpana headed Jagori, a leading NGO working on women’s rights. She has led large projects globally, and has been a consultant for many agencies including Women in Cities International, Action Aid, Plan International, UN Women, and UN Habitat. She has published widely in journals, magazines and newspapers, and is frequently called upon as an expert on various TV channels. She is on the board of several organizations including International Centre for the Prevention of Crime in Canada and Advisory Board of Women in Cities International.


Ashish Basu, Co-Founder, SafetiPin

Mr. Ashish Basu is an entrepreneur with interests in education and mobile technologies. In addition to being co-founder at Safetipin, Ashish is Founder & CEO of Scorace – an edtech company. He is also on the advisory board of Unitus Seed Fund and Adhyayan.

Earlier, he was President, NIIT. In this capacity he led new business ventures for NIIT including providing oversight to new acquisitions and joint ventures. He set up NIITs global learning solutions business in the early nineties, providing services to many leading US and UK companies. He was a member of the board of several NIIT companies and ventures including ElementK, Evolv, NIIT Institute of Process Excellence, NIIT USA Inc, and NIIT UK. He has been a member of government task forces in elearning and curriculum development. He is an alumnus of IIM Bangalore and IIT Mumbai.


Sonali Vyas

Sonali Vyas is Program Manager at Safetipin. As an Architect- Urban Planner, she works on data analysis, representation and involved in developing design and policy level recommendations for making public spaces safer for one and all. She also manages partner relationships, project campaign and documentation. She did her graduation from Aayojan School of Architecture, Jaipur and post- graduation from CEPT University, Ahmedabad.


Priyanka Sharma

Priyanka Sharma, Human Resources Manager at SafetiPin responsible for all HR and operations related activities. Responsible for defining job positions and managing the Interview process and carrying out Induction for new team members. Also, involved in the Budgeting of various projects associated with SafetiPin.Maintains management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures. Always keen to learn new things or processes related to her field. Also assist in the Accounting related functions to update the various processes and files.


Deepak Phalswal

Deepak Phalswal is in charge of Digital Marketing and managing social media at Safetipin. He has over 2 years of experience in Digital Marketing. He enjoys working on social media and analytics. He loves to travel and is a die-hard football and cricket fan.


Rwitee Mandal

Rwitee Mandal is a Senior Program Manager at Safetipin. She is an Architect and Urban Designer from the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi. She has worked as a consultant and adviser on both green-field neighbourhood designs and inner-city interventions in India. Her primary expertise lies on the subject of ‘gender and space’ and she has worked in varied capacities with women-centric organisations and citizens groups. She is a visiting faculty at her alma mater at the Post Graduate Urban Design Programme.


Nandini Bhardwaj

Nandini Bhardwaj is working on the next iteration of products at Safetipin. She brings to this experience leading technology products at Digital Green and software development experience at Microsoft and Adobe. She earned her MBA at INSEAD, Masters in Computer Science at Columbia University, and Bachelors at NSIT, Delhi. She aspires to create impact at scale through the confluence of design and technology.


Raajpratap Thakur

Raajpratap is Program Associate at Safetipin. He works on analysis and documentation as well as manages networking & communication with local partners of Safetipin. He has done Bachelor in Planning & Public Policy and Masters in Regional & Urban Planning from CEPT University, Ahmedabad with specialization in Transportation Planning.


Ankita Kapoor

Ankita is a Program Associate at Safetipin. She is an Architect- Urban Planner and has completed her masters in Urban and Regional Planning from CEPT University, Ahmedabad. She aspires to bring a change in the society by contributing towards creating Gender Inclusive public spaces. At Safetipin, she mostly works on data analysis, data representation and documentation.


Khan Rubia Faiyaz

Rubia, working as the process manager at Safetipin, Taking care of Project management of different applications under safetipin and she's responsible for managing Quality, Training, MIS, Programmer's team.

Earlier Rubia was working with Eccentric InfoTech Pvt Ltd ,Pune, as Assistant Operations Manager and had an extensive experience of four year in different domains. Rubia done her MBA in Operations and B.tech in ECE. She loves traveling


Gaurav Shokeen

Gaurav Shokeen is a Data Analyst at Safetipin. He has almost 2 years of experience in working on digitizing, creating and maintaining GIS databases. He works to analyze data, synthesizing it into maps, reports, and other usable formats. Gaurav has done B.Tech in ( I.T) from M.D.U. He loves to travel and play cricket.


Toshi Saini

Toshi Saini works with the Data analysis team on quality assessment and is engaged in coding as well as reviewing data. She delivers training sessions and coordinates with other team members on all aspects of data management. She has done Bachelor in Science from Chatrapati Sahuji Maharaj University.
